PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally-actuated steam trap that can open a valve when an expansion rate becomes a prescribed value or more due to the deterioration of an expansion medium. SOLUTION: A valve seat 15 is disposed to be able to advance/retreat in a valve seat storage chamber 7. An outside air chamber 16 is formed between the back face of the valve seat 15 and a cover 5, and outside air pressure is applied through a through-hole 14. A spring 17 to disposed to energize the valve seat 15 to the valve chamber 6 side. A bypass passage 9 is formed between the tip outer periphery of the valve seat 15 and a transverse wall 11. A thermally-actuated element 19 including the expansion medium 23 is disposed in the valve chamber 6 and fixed by a snap ring 10. The valve seat 15 is displaced onto the valve chamber 3 side by the outside air pressure and the energizing force of the spring 17 to close the bypass passage 9 with a shoulder part until the expansion rate of the expansion medium 23 reaches the prescribed value, and displaced onto the cover 5 side against the outside air pressure and the energizing force of the spring 17 to open the bypass passage 9 when the expansion rate of the expansion medium 23 becomes the prescribed value or more due to the deterioration of the expansion medium 23.
