PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a triorganosilyl carboxylate compound inexpensively, efficiently and safely. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the triorganosilyl carboxylate compound comprises reacting a triorganochlorosilane compound with a carboxylic acid in the presence of a nitrogen-containing compound represented by the general formula: R<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>R<SP>3</SP>N, where a phase transfer catalyst is used. In the general formula, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-10C substituted or unsubstituted, monovalent hydrocarbon group and two of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>may be linked together with nitrogen, to which they are bonded, to form a ring. Employment of the phase transfer catalyst remarkably enhances reactivity and permits to safely manufacture the triorganosilyl carboxylate compound in a high yield. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
