PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform discharge even for a large hopper without applying excessive load on a screw shaft. SOLUTION: This screw feeder includes a hopper 2 with a V-shaped inside cross section at a lower end thereof, a screw shaft 3 rotatably installed along the whole lower end corner 2b inside the hopper 2, a flow regulating plate 5 with an angular shaped cross section fixed to the hopper 2 axially throughout and over the screw shaft 3 inside the hopper 2 with a certain distance from the screw shaft 3, and a motor 11 for rotating the screw shaft 3.
