PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative particle generator for a vehicle capable of adding a negative particle that is said to give relax feeling to air without generating ozone when performing driving of the vehicle accompanied with sense of strain and fatigue. SOLUTION: This negative particle generator is provided with a ventilation means circulating air in a vehicle room and a negative particle generator composed of a photoelectron generation material 1 provided in an air passage 13 of an air conditioner for the vehicle and a light source 4 for applying ultraviolet rays to the photoelectron generation material 1 to generate negative particles. Consequently, photoelectron is generated from the photoelectron generation material 1 by ultraviolet rays from the light source 4, is caught in molecule of water and oxygen in the air entering through an air inlet 6 or minute particle such as dust, and is discharged through an air outlet 9 as negative particle to add the negative particle to air without generating ozone.
