PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bread machine in which a bar code reader smoothly moves and reads a bar code. SOLUTION: This bread machine has the main body to form an oven chamber, a door to open/close the opening of the oven chamber, a pair of kneading drums set vertically and mutually separate in the oven chamber to hold both end parts of a mix bag respectively to forwardly/reversely rotate, and a bar code reader set adjacent to the kneading drums to read the bar code displayed on the mix bag. The bread machine also includes a rotary support part set on the main body, a working part which can be brought into contact with the door, a turning end part turnably supported by the turning support part, a reader support part to support the bar code reader, and a reader holder linked to opening/closing motion of the door to move between a reading position where the bar code reader approaches the kneading drums and a withdrawal position where the bar code reader is separated from the kneading drums.
