PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a presser foot for a sewing machine, by which a needle thread loop having a size large enough to form a stitch is formed, and the occurrence of sewing defects such as thread breakage, skip stitch, and drop end side is prevented. SOLUTION: The presser foot for the sewing machine includes: a presser bar 16 which is supported by a sewing machine arm vertically rotatably, and receives a downward elastic force; a roller support base 17 fixed to the lower end of the presser bar; a feed roller 18 supported by the roller support base rotatably; a presser foot arm 19 which is supported by the roller support base rotatably, and also energized in one rotating direction; and a presser foot 20 which is fixed to one end of the presser foot arm, and has an eye formed therein. A circular arcuate surface 20b whose radius center is positioned on the center line S of the needle's eye is formed on the bottom surface of the presser foot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
