<p>A method and apparatus for monitoring the coalescence power of a coalescer comprising a coalescing material, wherein first and second electrodes are in electrical contact with the coalescing material, a source of electromotive force (EMF) and a means for indicating the dielectric properties between the electrodes, in which the dielectric properties related to the coalescence power of the coalescer. The method and apparatus can be used to determine when the coalescer needs to be replaced, especially for use in removing water dispersed in hydrocarbon such as fuel, particularly aviation fuel.</p> |
