PURPOSE: A paper detecting device of a printer is provided to easily feed papers by allowing an actuator to be smoothly operated without being interrupted by a hinge. CONSTITUTION: A paper detecting device of a printer includes an actuator(30), an actuating member(40), a hinge shaft(50), a hinge(60) and a sensor(70). The actuator(30) has a disc plate(31) and two arms(33,35) protruded from the disc plate(31). Two arms(33,35) are symmetrically aligned to each other. The disc plate(31) is formed at the center thereof with a hole into which the hinge shaft(50) is inserted. A protrusion is protruded from one side of the disc plate(31). The actuator member(40) has a disc shape and the diameter of the actuator member(40) is smaller than the diameter of the disc plate(31). The actuator member(40) is fixed with respect to the hinge shaft(50).
