<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion compensation fiber module having a reel structure for winding longer dispersion compensation fibers without increasing a loss in the fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The fiber module includes a reel 20 composed of a body part and flange parts 12, 12 connected to both end parts of the body part, and a dispersion compensation fiber 30. A first opening 14 and a second opening 15 are provided with one flange part 12, a groove part 16 is provided from the first opening 14 through the second opening 15, a winding beginning end part 30a of the fiber 30 passes through the groove part 16 and the two openings 14, 15 to be led out between the flange parts 12, 12. A depth of the groove part 16 is 0.2-1 mm and a width of the groove part 16 is 15-50 mm. Two or more kinds of fibers are connected in the groove part 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
