<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely make each ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) switch in an ATM switch part perform routing without providing a control part for individually performing routing control of each ATM switch in the ATM switch part. <P>SOLUTION: A switch controller 12 generates routing information 14 that defines a route of an ATM cell 13 in an ATM exchange and supplies the ATM cell 13 only to ATM switches 311 to 31m in an ATM switch group 31 on a first stage for receiving the ATM cell 13. The ATM switches 311 to 31m have a route identifier generating part for preparing a route identifier 25 including information for specifying a port to which an ATM switch of each stage outputs an ATM cell on the basis of the routing information 14 and attaching the route identifier 25 to the ATM cell 13. ATM switches in switch groups 31 and 32 on each stage perform routing on the basis of the route identifier 25 transferred in accompaniment with the ATM cell 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
