<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device which reduces or eliminates block distortion caused even on an interlace decoding image without image quality distortion while not losing a high frequency component of the decoded image. <P>SOLUTION: The filter device includes: a line memory 101 for applying a prescribed delay to a decoded image signal processed in the unit of blocks; a vertical block distortion discrimination section 102 for discriminating block distortion in a vertical direction of blocks of the decoded image signal; a vertical filter 103 for applying filter processing to the image signal delayed by a prescribed delay in the line memory 101 in the vertical direction on the basis of a result of discrimination obtained by the vertical block distortion discrimination section 102; a horizontal block distortion discrimination section 104 for discriminating the block distortion in a horizontal direction of the image signal outputted from the vertical filter 103; and a horizontal filter 105 for applying filter processing to the image signal in a horizontal direction on the basis of a result of discrimination obtained by the horizontal block distortion discrimination section 104. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
