PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which can make flash light reach an object at a distance with the same flash light emission quantity and whose white balance can accurately be adjusted. SOLUTION: When photography using flash light is performed in daytime while an "automatic lighting" mode among flash light modes is selected, a main CPU 110 adjusts the irradiation angle of flash light and flash light is emitted. When electronic zooming is carried out, the flash light is narrowed down and emitted to a main object area enlarged by the electronic zooming. A light measuring/range finding CPU 140 detects luminance values of the main subject area and its peripheral area respectively and decreases the irradiation angle when the luminance of the main subject area is less than a specified value smaller than that of the peripheral area to irradiate the subject with the flash light. A white balance adjustment/λprocessing part 112 adjusts image data to a white balance corresponding to the color temperature of the flash light. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
