PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method capable of rapidly and efficiently carrying out the work to clean soil containing organic compounds, such as trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, and further, PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyl), dioxins. SOLUTION: In the construction method of improving the soil for cleaning areas contaminated with the organic compounds by Raney nickel and hydrogen, the cleaning work consisting of steps of; driving sealing piles into the land to be subjected to soil improvement to compartmentalize the land; compartmentalizing the land like mesh; sampling the soil from the respective mesh-like subdivision lands; judging contamination; previously recognizing the contaminated regions; then boring the lands while slurrying the ground by forcibly feeding an aqueous Raney nickel solution activated by an aqueous alkaline solution from the front end of a rotating boring rod of the deep stratum mixing apparatus and the hydrogen into the ground from a lateral jet orifice at the front end of the boring rod from the upstream side toward the downstream side of the ground water of the contaminated regions; and cleaning the contaminated regions by contact reduction, is repeated until the previously recognized contaminated regions do not exist any more.
