PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission having a manual shaft to operate a control valve, capable of being embodied in a small size and widening the degree of freedom in designing the control valve, in which the installing position of the manual shaft is well deviced. SOLUTION: The automatic transmission is structured so that the manual shaft is arranged in such a way as penetrating the transmission case and located in a position near a parking mechanism operated by the manual shaft.
