PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device for a radio communication terminal and a radio communication apparatus, enabling good communication quality depending on a communication environment. SOLUTION: An antenna device 100 for a PC card is constituted of two dielectric substrates 108, and a plate 109 of which side length is no less than a half wavelength, sandwiched by the two dielectric substrates 108. On a front face of the dielectric substrates 108, a half-wavelength linearly polarized wave patch 101, a through hole 103, a radio-frequency switch 104, a radio section 105, and an arithmetic processor 106 are formed. On a rear face of the dielectric substrates 108, a half-wavelength linearly polarized wave patch 102 and a through hole 103 are formed. With this structure, since directivity of the half-wavelength linearly polarized wave patch 101 are different by 180 degrees from that of the half-wavelength linearly polarized wave patch 102, by selecting, and switching to, a half-wavelength linearly polarized wave patch antenna having a higher receiving level, it becomes possible to obtain good communication quality depending on a communication condition.
