PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve tone quality characteristics by suppressing the resonance of a lead screw engaging member engaged with the helical groove of a lead screw for driving an optical pickup in the radial direction of a magneto-optical disk. SOLUTION: In the optical disk device, the lead screw engaging member 30 composed of a leaf spring is fixed to an optical pickup base which drives the optical pickup for recording and reproducing data on the magneto-optical disk, the lead screw engaging member 30 is engaged with a lead screw rotationally driven by a stepping motor and the optical pickup base is driven through the lead screw engaging member 30 by the rotation of the lead screw. In this case, a damp material 37 is attached to the entire surface or a part of the lead screw engaging member 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
