PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic writing head architecture, in which the writing magnetic field is larger than that of a previously structured writing head and also the erasing of adjacent tracks is a little. SOLUTION: The magnetic writing head is provided with a pedestal throat height located at the position substantially drawn from an air bearing surface ABS while specifying a lower pole P1. The writing head is further provided with an upper pole P2 for specifying a nose nearer to the air bearing surface than the pedestal zero throat 125. The large writing magnetic field is obtained, and the erasing of the adjacent tracks becomes minimum. The magnetic field of a comparatively higher rate of off-track-to-on-track is obtained, for instance, the rate of 1:4 is attained, then the erasing of the adjacent tracks generated from the magnetic flux saturation is remarkably reduced.
