PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for recording/reproducing information for easily solving the various problems when information is recorded from a stationary recording medium to a mobile recording medium by building up an environment equal to the recording of information from the stationary recording medium to the mobile recording medium on the stationary recording medium even when no mobile recording medium is actually loaded, and a broadcast receiver. SOLUTION: When information is recorded/reproduced between a hard disk 21a and an optical disk 22a smaller in a recording capacity than the hard disk 21a, a recording area corresponding to the recording capacity of the optical disk 22a is secured on the recording area of the hard disk 21a.
