VALVE OR COVER FOR PLUG, CASK EQUIPPED WITH EITHER OF THEM AND METHOD FOR SEALING, STORING AND TRANSPORTING RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve or a cover for a plug which can easily be installed in conventional casks, and to provide a cask equipped with either of them and a method for sealing, storing and transporting radioactive substances. SOLUTION: The cover 11 for the valve 3 is so constituted that it has a pedestal 12 which is shaped like a ring and where the valve 3 is located inside in the radial direction and one end 12a in an axial direction is connected to a main body 2 of the cask, a lid 13 fitted into the other end 12b of the pedestal 12 and a fixture 14 for fixing the pedestal 12 and the lid 13. Flanges are placed on the outer peripheries of the pedestal 12 and the lid 13 respectively. The fixture 14 is so constituted that it has engaging members which are shaped like approximate arcs and where engaging concave parts receiving the outer peripheries of the flanges of the pedestal 12 and the lid 13 are placed on the inner peripheral surface and a fastener for tightening and fixing these engaging members with them engaged with the outer peripheries of the flanges.
