PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-chromium alloy or a surface layer coated with the nickel-chromium alloy, which has superior corrosion resistance, surface cleanliness and antibacterial activity, and a flat surface in an atomic level, and to provide a surface treatment method therefor. SOLUTION: The method for surface treating the surface layer treated with the nickel-chromium alloy having a flat terrace structure in the atomic level comprises removing a surface film and stains by keeping the nickel-chromium alloy at a less noble potential than -500 mV (with reference to a saturated calomel electrode) in a solution for passivating the alloy, and immediately passivating it by keeping it at a surface potential of 0 to 950 mV, as electrochemical treatment.
