The ironing board edge (4) surrounds the board (1) and holds the padding (3) of the cover (2) in a way that prevents the padding from moving. The underside of the padding can be equipped with a groove (6), which encases the board edge, or with a bead, which grips the board edge. The edge (4) projects 0.2 - 5 cm above the board surface and is conical in shape. The padding of the cover consists of rigid foam.
