The bag has a front and a back (3,4) connected by inward base fold and transverse weld seams (6). The top of the bag has a filling aperture (7) for nappies. A tape (8) fitted into the base fold is wider than the plastic part forming the fold, and engages around edge areas (9) of front and back next to the fold. The tape is connected to front and back via longitudinal and transverse weld seams. The front and/or the back has a perforation or a tear strip below the tap, to aid opening.
