The block (24) includes a first row of valve accommodation chambers (25-28) for inlet valves (10-13), a second row of chambers (29-32) for outlet valves (14, 15, 18, 19) and a pump chamber (68) with a longitudinal axis (70). This runs perpendicular to the longitudinal axes (33, 34) of the valve accommodation chambers (25-32) and between the long axis (33) of the valve accommodation chambers (25-28) of the first row and the longitudinal axes (34) of the valve accommodation chamber (29-32) of the second row. Low pressure storage chambers (36, 37) are located on the side of the valve chambers (29-32) facing away from the pump chamber (68) and in the second row. The longitudinal axis (65) is perpendicular to the longitudinal axes (33, 34) of the valve chambers (25-32) and to the longitudinal axis (70) of the pump chamber (68). A separate direct connection (60-63) runs between each valve chamber (29-32) of an outlet valve (14-19) and an allocated low pressure storage chamber (36, 37).
