Transport and storage control method for use in a wood processing plant, for controlling the use of transport for moving stored trunks between storage points and processing stations

Method for storage and transport of raw material, especially tree trunks, whereby transport means (5) is used to move the raw material between storage points (2a-2m, 3a-3m) and processing stations (4a, 4b). The positions of storage points and processing stations are stored in a reference coordinate system in a control unit (6). In addition the filling level of the storage points and status of the transport means are reported to the control unit. The latter issues commands to the transport means over a wireless network, based on the received storage and status information. An Independent claim is made for a device for storage and transport of raw material, especially tree trunks.
