PURPOSE: A circuit and a method for compensating a power voltage of a television are provided to prevent an erroneous operation of a system by adjusting a power voltage in hardware in the case of an instant drop in the power voltage while resetting software in the case of relatively long drop in the power voltage. CONSTITUTION: A power supply(1) and a regulator(2) process main power source and generates a power voltage. An A/D(Analog-to-Digital) converter(4) converts the main power source into digital signals. A low pass filter(5) removes harmonics/high frequency components from output of the A/D converter. A down-scanner(6) reduces an output voltage of the low pass filter to a certain rate. A central processing unit(7) receives the output voltage of the down scanner and detects a drop in a voltage, and resets software by judging the drop or changing an electric potential of a control signal. A memory(8) stores data of the central processing unit. A power voltage compensator(3) supplies a voltage replacing the power voltage for a voltage drop period. A multiplexor selects the power voltage and the output voltage of the power voltage compensator.
