<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire retarding resin composition, an electric wire, an electric cable and an optical fiber cord having high fire retardancy and high heat resistance, excellent in oil resistance and shrinking characteristics under a high temperature in which no elution of a heavy metal compound nor a phosphorus compound is observed and further no discharge of a large amount of corrosive gas is observed. <P>SOLUTION: The fire retardant resin composition is one prepared by kneading under melting a composition comprising 100 mass parts of a resin component (A) containing 10-85 mass% of an ethylene copolymer and 90-15 mass% of a thermoplastic resin having a polyester or polyether segment, and 0.001-1.0 mass part of an organic peroxide and 50-300 masspart of a metal hydrate (B) previously treated for a predetermined amount with a silane coupling agent, and the electric wire, the electric cable and the optical fiber cord are prepared by coating with the fire retardant resin composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
