PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta toner which can omit classifying/kneading steps heretofore required for the conventional triturated toners, has good transferability, satisfies cleanability, has a small grain size and narrow grain size distribution highly contributing to high image quality of high resolution and excellent gradation characteristics, improves the dispersibility of coloring matter, has high tinting strength and makes a high image density obtainable. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image develoing magenta toner contains at least a binder resin and coloring matter and is obtained by dissolving a toner composition containing a urea-bondable denatured polyester-based resin into an organic solvent, by dispersing the dissolved matter into an aqueous medium, by subjecting the dissolved matter to an polyaddition reaction, by removing the solvent of the dispersion thereof and by cleaning the dispersion.
