EVALUATION METHOD FOR GROUND CHARACTERISTIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the shear wave velocity of improved ground and then rationally determine a strength characteristic and a deformation characteristic thereof based on the result. SOLUTION: A test piece with a specification equivalent to the ground characteristic of an object to be evaluated is made in advance of the actual execution work of ground improvement. The relation between the shear wave velocity and strength is formulated by practicing an interior test determining the shear wave velocity and the strength against the test piece. The ground strength at a site is estimated by applying the measurement result of the shear wave velocity determined by the use of a bender element located in ground where the actual execution work proceeds, against a determined regression curve.
