PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably discharge a dried matter while preventing the tangle with a gas blown into a rotary cylinder. SOLUTION: This horizontal rotary dryer comprises the rotary cylinder 10 rotatable around a shaft center direction, and dries a matter to be dried in the rotary cylinder through external heating during a process to discharge the dried matter charged from one end side of the rotary cylinder 10 while rotating the rotary cylinder 10, from the other end side. The other end side of the rotary cylinder 10 has an outlet part 20 opened to an outer part in the other end direction, a dried matter discharge port 31A and a gas blow-out port 32A for blowing the gas into the rotary cylinder 10 are respectively communicated to openings 21, 22 of the outlet part 20, a partition 23 for partitioning an inner side and an outer side is mounted on the outlet part, and the outer side and the inner side of the partition 23 are respectively provided with blades 24 for sending out the dried matter toward the opening 21.
