PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ratchet for a reclining mechanism which is arranged so as to be tilted with respect to a base arm, having a recession on the opposite surface of the base arm, and having an internal tooth formed on the inner peripheral surface of the recession, to provide its production method, to provide the ratchet for the reclining mechanism with forming dies which are hardly deformed with a little tooth sag, and are reduced in weight, to provide its production method, and the forming dies for molding the ratchet of the reclining mechanism. SOLUTION: The recession 2001 whose inner peripheral surface is positioned between the root circle T and the addendum circle S of the inner teeth 133 is arranged in the forming dies 1004 and 1006 for molding the back surface side of the ratchet 130. It is favorable that the inner peripheral surface of the recession 2001 is positioned on the pitch circle P of the inner teeth 133. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
