PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decholin production-promoting agent which has an excellent decholin production-promoting effect to prevent or improve ageing syndromes such as wrinkles and skin elasticity deterioration, and to provide a skin external preparation and a food which each contain the decholin production-promoting agent and exhibits excellent effects on preventing and improving the ageing syndromes.

SOLUTION: This decholin production-promoting agent contains a Livistona R. Br. plant extract as an active ingredient. The skin external preparation and the food each contain the decholin production-promoting agent.
