PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image searching apparatus capable of searching and displaying a closest image to a searched image even when no image at a designated date and time exist because the designated image is overwritten in the case of searching for the image. SOLUTION: The image searching apparatus is provided with a management area for managing image data in addition to an image data area, a recording date and time of an image and an address to which the image is recorded are recorded to the management area, and the recording date and time is recorded even to the image data area together with the image data. When the recording date and time of the management area is dissident with the recording date and time of the image data area at retrieval of the image, the retrieval date and time is revised according to a prescribed expression to execute the retrieval.
