PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for imaging on a recording medium in which cleaning effect can be enhanced in the vicinity of an ink ejection hole without damaging an ink ejection face. SOLUTION: The apparatus for imaging on a recording medium by ejecting ink from ink ejection holes in an ink ejection face 6 of a print head 4 is provided with a columnar cleaning roller 7 made of an elastic material, a moving means for moving the cleaning roller 7 and the print head 4 relatively while touching the outer circumferential surface of the cleaning roller 7 to the ink ejection face 6 of the print head 4, and a drive control means for controlling driving of the moving means. Upon ending the operation for imaging on the recording medium, the moving means is driven, under control of the driving control means, to touch the outer circumferential surface of the cleaning roller 7 to the ink ejection face 6 thus sucking ink in the ink ejection hole.
