Dispersions, suitable for making very thin films and coatings, contain (a) 40-95% hydrocarbon wax, pref. a paraffin wax and (b) 60-5% filmogenic cyrstalline hydrocarbon copolymer contg. >=75% C2H4 and >=2% of another 3-20C -olefin. Mean size of primary polymer particles = 0.02-0.5 mu, at least 75% being 0.1-0.4 mu; no particles >3 mu. Copolymer is pref. a statistical copolymer of C2H4 and up to 13% C3H6 or 1-butene, or a block copolymer of C2H4 with up to 25% C3H6. |
