A film with an antistatic coating including at least one layer including a synthetic inorganic silicate layer, an electrically conductive polymer with an antistatic coating which includes at least one synthetic inorganic silicate layer, an electrically conductive polymer, a mixture of inorganic silicate layer and electrically conductive polymer, or a pure or modified Si oxide or metal oxide obtained from a nanosol and based on Sn, Zn, Sr titanate, W, Fe, Ti, Al, Zr, of dry layer thickness 0.01-4 micron and surface resistance 104 to 108 ohm/cm2. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for application of an antistatic formulation (AF) to a film, especially a film run, in which by homogeneous dispersion of a fluorosilicate layer (FSL) an electrically conductive polymer (ECP), a mixture of FSL and ECP, or an Si or metal oxide from a nanosol, a coating solution is obtained in pure water or an organic solvent containing water, with addition of at least one adhesion aid, which is applied as a dispersion or nanosol by brushing, spraying, dipping, rolling, onto the film surface, and the dispersed component is concentrated by evaporation of the solution by IR radiation and/or hot air; (2) A device for wetting and coating a film, especially a film run with an antistatic formulation, including an extrusion nozzle, with strips (sic) of porous material, thru the capillaries of which the AF is forced under high pressure and is deposited on the film surface, where extrusion nozzle (1) has a slit (3) in which the material strips are arranged and project from the slit, lie on the surface of the film run (5), are moved over roller (6) so that extrusion nozzle (1) via metering pump (2) is connected to holder (7) for the AF (8), the film run passes from roller (6) into a drying zone, and the hot air from drier (11) dries the AF (8) on the wet coated film run (5).
