PURPOSE: A shock absorber of a vehicle is provided to considerably improve the work efficiency in tuning damping force and prevent an accident caused by oil pollution by removing a conical spring and a helical spring. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber of a vehicle includes a cylinder(103) comprising inner and outer tubes(101,102) having each different length and diameter; a piston rod(104) inserted into the inner tube of the cylinder, with the upper end connected to a vehicle body; a rod guide member(105) fitted into the upper ends of the inner and outer tubes of the cylinder, to make the piston rod move rectilinearly and stably while maintaining exact straightness; a piston valve member(108) dividing the inside of the inner tube into a compression chamber(106) and a tension chamber(107), with fixed to the lower end of the piston rod, and controlling the flowing of an actuating fluid filled in the cylinder, in compression and tension strokes; and a base valve member(109) compensating the volume of the actuating fluid in the compression and tension strokes of the piston valve member, with fitted into the lower end of the inner tube of the cylinder. The cylinder is connected to an axle. The piston rod repeatedly reciprocates in the inner tube of the cylinder according to the impact applied to the vehicle body.
