PURPOSE: A microorganism strain, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, having bunker C oil-decomposing activity is provided. The microorganism can decompose bunker C oil at relatively low temperature of 20 to 25 deg. C within a short period, so that environment polluted by bunker C oil can be effectively and rapidly recovered. CONSTITUTION: A microorganism strain, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, having bunker C oil-decomposing activity is provided, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus SEBCM-1(KCTC 10275BP) which is isolated from the oil polluted soil has the optimum growth temperature of 20 to 25 deg. C and decomposes 50% or more of lubricating oil at 25 deg. C within 5 days. A microorganism preparation for decomposing bunker C oil contains Acinetobacter calcoaceticus SEBCM-1(KCTC 10275BP) as an active ingredient.
