PURPOSE: A structure for opening an airbag for a vehicle is provided to prevent the injury of a passenger and to improve safety by preventing a crash pad door from being separated in the direction of a passenger side when the airbag is inflated. CONSTITUTION: An igniter(21) and gas discharge ports(20) are formed at the side and front of an inflator(2), respectively. Two support plates(6) are installed parallel between the front of the inflator and a crash pad door(4), and forms a crash pad door containing unit(61). Cushions(3) are installed at the top and bottom of the support plates, are connected to the gas discharge port, and is inflated by gas supplied from the gas discharge port. A cylinder(5) is installed in the inflator, and has a piston(50) connected to the crash pad door by a wire(52). The piston moves in the opposite direction of a passenger side, and pulls the wire when the cushion is inflated so that the crash pad door containing unit contains the crash pad door. |
