A network architecture for supporting the lawful intercept of a network communication is provided. The network architecture includes a delivery function that provides intercept information to one or more agencies. The delivery function receives an intercept request notification for intercept related information, receives intercept related information and content from one or more access functions, examines the content for additional intercept related information, and provides the received intercept related information and the additional intercept related information to at least one agency.
