The sliding locking rod mechanism has a guide stirrup (16) of a hard and resistant metal in a release fitting at a holder (14), which has the sliding rod (12). The guide stirrup (16) and/or holder (14) have only an indirect contact with the sliding rod (12) through a sliding bearing system (18), with one or more sliding bearing units (20,20'). The material of the bearing system (18) is softer, and has a lower friction coefficient against the rod (12) than the material of the stirrup (16). The sliding bearing material is of, or contains plastics.
