A hand-held cleaning tool comprises a flexible elongated member 14 having at one end a polymer cleaning element 16 and at the other end a finger grip 15. The polymer is non abrasive with inherent adhesion for small particles and hair, no aqueous solubility, non-corrosive, no particulate emission and no separate chemical impregnation into the polymer. The tool is preferably used for cleaning charge coupled devices, an optics surface, a film surface, a glass surface, a single-lens reflex mirror, a transparency surface or an electrooptical device surface. It may also be used for collecting evidence during police or forensic work where it may be stored in a test tube like container 21. The gathered contaminate materials maybe removed from the cleaning element 16 by washing with water. |
