Process and apparatus for automatic marking of address fields

Method for automatic mail sorting in which postal item address blocks (4) are automatically recognized and marked in preparation for further processing of the address. The address block is also identified by identification of differences between images (BM, BA) of sequential mail items. The invention also relates to a corresponding mail sorting plant and computer program for method implementation.
