PURPOSE: An LED(Light Emitting Diode) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to be capable of emitting light having a variety of colors, increasing light intensity, and reducing fabrication cost. CONSTITUTION: An LED is provided with a sapphire substrate(110) having a polished upper and lower surface, the first LED structure(120) formed at the upper portion of the sapphire substrate for emitting the first light having the first color, and the second LED structure(130) formed at the lower portion of the sapphire substrate for emitting the second light having the second color. Preferably, the first LED structure is a blue LED structure. Preferably, the second LED structure is a green LED structure. |
