A first material (4) is applied to a substrate (2) to form a first layer (3) which is converted into a mould (3), a second material (5) is applied to the mould and then at least part of the first layer is removed. A method for making a micropacking (1) comprises the following steps: (a) applying a first material to a substrate to form a first layer; (b) converting the first layer into a mould for the micropacking; (c) applying a second material to at least an area of the substrate surface (7) not covered by the mould; and (d) removing at least part of the first layer.
