A device for evacuating gas, especially from a packaging vessel filled with fish or meat products undergoing enzymatic ripening, comprises a plug for fitting into a plastic barrel. The plug has a passage extending through it, one end containing a valve opening and filter. The valve opening is gas-permeable in both directions, but liquid-tight. An Independent claim is also included for a evacuation method for gas generated during enzymatic ripening of fish or meat, by allowing it to pass through a liquid-tight, gas-permeable valve opening. |
