PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat a tundish under non-oxidizing condition in a simple constitution by alternately executing the heating movement of a regenerator and the heating and blowing movements of inert gas. SOLUTION: The heated inert gas is alternately and continuously supplied into the tundish 1 from two sets of regenerating type preheating devices 2A, 2B. For this purpose, corresponding fuel gas valve 8A or 8B, combustion air valve 13A or 13B and gas exhaust valve 20A or 20B are opened and inert gas change-over valve 17A or 17B is closed and fuel gas in combustion chamber 4A or 4B is burnt to heat the regenerator 3A or 3B. Then, the exhaust gas is exhausted to the air through the gas exhaust valve 20A or 20B to heat the regenerator 3A or 3B. Further, the fuel gas valve 8A or 8B, combustion air valve 13A or 13R and gas exhaust valve 20A or 20B are closed and the inert gas change-over valve 17A or 17B is opened and the inert gas is heated through the heated combustion chamber 4A or 4B to blown the inert gas into the tundish 1. These movements are alternately executed, and by this method, the tundish can safely and surely be held to heat under non-oxidizing condition. |
