PURPOSE:To provide with sufficient resistance to corrosion and abrasion upon melting the ash and flying ash of incineration or waste such as sewage sludge cake and the like by a method wherein the specified amount of electrofused zirconia is blended with a zirconia refractory while the grain size and the containing amount of ZrO2 of the blended product are specified. CONSTITUTION:At least one part of the inner wall of a furnace is constituted of zirconia refractory, blended with 40wt.% or more of electrofused zirconia and the grain size of the electrofused zirconia is specified so as to be 7-0.044mm while the containing amount of ZrO2 of the electrofused zirconia is specified so as to be 80wt.% or more. The electrofused zirconia will never be reacted with molten substances even at 1900 deg.C or more. On the other hand, the hardness of the grain is high and, especially, a resistance to abrasion at a high temperature against the molten substances is excellent since the texture thereof is deuse. Further, the grain size of the electrofused zirconia is specified so as to be 7-0.044mm and 40wt.% or more of said zirconia is employed whereby prominent characteristics having both of resistance to corrosion and heat spalling resistant property can be obtained. |
