A device for changing the angular velocity of airflow may be placed in the a ir intake line of an internal combustion engine. The device may be constructed from one or more stationary fins. The fins may be curved so that as air passes from a first edge of the fin, past a second edge of the fin, the air moves in a curvilinear or vortical path.
