PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain communication with pluralities of equipments through the use of various communication protocols by retrieving a protocol identifier database in order to decide whether or not there is an entry corresponding to information started from a protocol identifier so as to decide whether or not a protocol with its version number is in existence in the database. SOLUTION: A device identifier of input information to a control and diagnosis system is used to seek a corresponding record in an input format database. For example, in the case that the device identifier indicates it that a category of the device is a copying machine, a model identifier is 'FT1150' and a version of a protocol in use is 1.0, it is found out that the record is coincident with a 1st record of the input format database and the format type is 'B' that indicates it that the communication format in use is a binary format. |
