PURPOSE: Provided is an improved liquid fuel supply type fuel cell, in which an electrode is wetted with the liquid fuel with an improved wettability by preventing anionic groups from being strongly adsorbed on the electrode/electrolyte interface. CONSTITUTION: The liquid fuel supply type fuel cell uses a fuel to which perfluorooctane sulfonate is added at a concentration of 0.0001 moles or higher. Preferably, the concentration of perfluorooctane sulfonate is 0.0001 to 0.01 moles. The fuel cell comprises: an anode(14); a cathode(16); a solution containing an organic liquid fuel, water, an acid electrolyte and perfluorooctane sulfonate as an additive; a member for causing the solution to flow through the anode(14); and a member for causing oxygen to flow through the cathode(16). |
